The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the Digital Stamp of the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG), the Federal Agency mandated to regulate the practice of mining engineering and geosciences in the country.
The launching ceremony, which is ongoing at the Honorable Minister’s Conference Room, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Abuja, will strengthen the agency for mandate success as it will be very instrumental in addressing the challenge of quackery in the sector.
The Launching is presided over by the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adegbite.
Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of COMEG, Prof Zacheus Opafunso said the COMEG Management will maximize the opportunities afforded by the Digital Stamp for greater mandate success.
Director General, Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office, Engr Simon Nkom and the President of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, Surveyor Alabo Charles also graced the ceremony.
