AFCON: CAF suspends two Egyptian players ahead of Super Eagles clash

Egypt will be missing midfielder Marwan Attia and attacker Salah Mohsen for their third-place match against Nigeria.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) punished the duo for the game for their unsportsmanlike conduct following Egypt’s 1-0 semi-final loss to Senegal.

Attia made a gesture suggesting that the referees had been bribed, while Mohsen made mocking gestures toward Senegalese journalists.

Their suspension came as a major blow to Pharaohs head coach Hossam Hassan, who is already dealing with absences ahead of the match against Nigeria.

The seven-time champions will face the Super Eagles at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca on Saturday (today).

The game will kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
