The All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide membership e-registration programme is recording significant momentum in Enugu State, as prominent party leaders and stakeholders mobilise members and supporters across the state’s senatorial districts.
At Orba Ward 2 in Udenu Local Government Area, former Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, formally registered as a member of the APC during the flag-off of the exercise for Enugu North Senatorial District.
Speaking shortly after his registration, Ugwuanyi commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as bold economic, social and security reforms, which he said were already yielding positive results nationwide.
He particularly praised the president for infrastructural interventions in the Southeast and Enugu State, citing the ongoing reconstruction and dualisation of the 9th Mile–Markurdi highway, alongside other key road projects, as evidence of the administration’s commitment to the region. On this basis, Ugwuanyi openly endorsed President Tinubu for a second term in office.
The former governor also expressed gratitude to the President for appointing him to serve the country in a diplomatic capacity, noting that Tinubu’s engagement with the Southeast had helped to deepen national inclusion.
Meanwhile, at Amaechi Awkunanaw community in Enugu South Local Government Area, former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, led the flag-off of the APC e-registration exercise for Enugu East Senatorial District.
He highlighted the strategic importance of the registration drive, recalling that the APC recorded only 4,776 votes in Enugu State during the 2023 presidential election.
He also expressed confidence in Governor Mbah’s political influence, particularly in Nkanu land, adding that closer collaboration between the Enugu State Government and the federal administration would reflect positively at the polls.
The exercise, coordinated in the state by Chief Flavour Eze, also featured goodwill messages from the member representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency, Paul Nnamchi, and the Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Beloved Dan Anike.
