The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) takes Open Government Partnership (OGP) learning meeting to States in Nigeria’s Southeast region.
The meeting, which is part of Centre LSD’s “Promoting Transparency and Accountability in the Governance Process through the Implementation of the Open Government Partnership project”, shall bring together stakeholders from the region to share experiences, challenges, and best practices in implementing the OGP.
The meeting potentially will help deepen and sustain the successes recorded in the Southeast States of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Delta state which was brought into this mix being the only state in the South-south region to have signed up to the OGP.
A statement by Mr. Lawal Amodu, Programme Coordinator and OGP Project Lead of Centre LSD, stressed that the need to ensure that stakeholders remain committed to the ideals of the OGP, especially at the subnational level, is another strong impetus for the convening. He recalled that last week, Centre LSD successfully concluded the Southwest Regional Learning Meeting in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.
The release invites well-meaning citizens of the Southeast especially those who may not be available onsite to participate and engage the process to follow the proceedings through Centre LSD social media handles #OGPOpenNigeria; Facebook: @centrelsd; Instagram: @centrelsd Twitter: @centrelsd ###
