Gov. Ododo lauds Senator Jibrin-Echocho’s empowerment initiative

Gov. Ahmed Ododo of Kogi, has commended Sen. Isah Jibrin-Echocho for his mega empowerment programme in Anyigba, Kogi.

Ododo, represented by his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu, who inaugurated the initiative in Anyigba on Wednesday, described the programme as people-oriented leadership.

He said that prioritising empowerment would reduce poverty, create opportunities, improve livelihoods and promote sustainable development.

The governor stressed the need for collaboration between executive and legislative branches, calling the programme a product of effective partnership for the people’s benefit.

Ododo commended the Senator for aligning with his administration’s commitment to building a people-centred government focused on youths, women, small businesses, and agricultural development.

The governor congratulated beneficiaries, urging them to use resources wisely to improve lives and contribute to their communities.

The items distributed by Jibrin-Echocho include buses, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, engine boats, grinding machines, laptops, among others.

Earlier, the Senator, who represents Kogi East Senatorial District,  said the programme was part of his efforts to ease hardship among constituents.

He thanked Ododo for his leadership, saying his initiatives align with the governor’s vision.

He said the empowerment aimed to reach a wider audience, dispel misinformation, and ease his constituents’ hardships.

The event drew party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, and beneficiaries from Kogi East’s nine local government areas.
