The Katsina State Government has inaugurated the State Technical Committee (STC) for the Nigeria for Women Programme (NFWP) Scale-Up Project,
The state’s Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajia Aisha Aminu-Malumfashi, inaugurated the committee in Katsina on Friday.
According to her, the inauguration marked a significant step toward strengthening women’s economic empowerment in the state.
The commissioner charged the members of the committee to approach their assignment with diligence, dedication, and a high sense of accountability.
She emphasised that the success of the NFWP Scale-Up project in Katsina largely depended on the commitment and effective collaboration of all the stakeholders involved.
Aminu-Malumfashi described the NFWP Scale-Up as a strategic intervention designed to improve the livelihoods of women, expand economic opportunities, and promote inclusive development across communities in the state.
She said that the project aligns with the state government’s broader vision of empowering women as key drivers of sustainable development.
In line with the Project Implementation Manual, the Commissioner announced that the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Nura Murtala would serve as Chairman of the STC.
According to the commissioner, the STC state project Coordinator, Hajia Aisha Mohammed, would serve as the Committee’s Secretary.
“The committee’s membership comprises Permanent Secretaries from critical line ministries, including Health, Basic and Secondary Education, Commerce/Industry, Budget and Economic Planning, Agriculture, Water Resources, and Finance.
“Also represented are the Katsina State Development Management Board (KTDMB) and the Katsina State Enterprises and Development Agency (KASEDA), ensuring a multi-sectoral approach to project implementation,” she said.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the STC, Alhaji Nura Murtala, expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him.
He pledged to give his utmost commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of the project and assured that all relevant ministries, departments, and agencies would be fully engaged throughout the process.
