The Police Command in Bauchi has detained a 28-year-old man for allegedly defiling his eight-year-old daughter in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the State.
The spokesman of the command, SP Nafiu Habib, confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday in Bauchi.
He said the incident was reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Alkaleri.
According to him, the suspect lured his biological daughter into a bathroom and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her for about five times in a single day against her will.
“On receipt of the report, a team of detectives led by CSP Kadiri Danjuma, DPO Alkaleri, swiftly visited the scene, moved the victim to General Hospital Alkaleri for immediate medical attention, and arrested the suspect.”
He said during interrogation, the suspect willingly confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police (CP ) Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has ordered for a discreet and diligent investigation-based evidence gathering to explore the intricacies associated with the case for necessary prosecution.
