President Tinubu vows rigid enforcement against unapproved developments

President Bola Tinubu on Saturday warned developers that the Federal Government would not compensate developments without approvals.

Tinubu gave the warning while inaugurating a 30km stretch of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

The inaugurated portion is from the Phase One, Section One, of the highway project.

“Let me at this stage warn all developers. “The Federal Government will enforce the setback.

“If not for anything, it is for the interest of our nation.

“Development without approval will not be compensated.

“We are going to enforce it rigidly and in every way possible,” Tinubu said at the event during which he inaugurated other significant projects virtually.

He thanked residents of Lagos State for supporting the coastal highway project.

The President said that the project would positively affect the lives of Nigerians.

“I know at this stage the expectation is still very high and our people are going through difficult times.

“I take this opportunity to appeal to all Nigerians that the hope is here and it is realisable.”

He gave the assurance that the economy was recovering.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel now.”

He said that inflation was reducing and exchange rate stabilising.

“The corruption in exchange rate is eliminated, the corruption in fuel subsidy is reduced to barest minimum.

“It is your money.  Your children that must go to school. We are paying for all of that,” the President said.

Tinubu said that his administration was providing infrastructure in the various teaching hospitals and health centres.

“It is all about you. It is all for you, the people. We are reducing the cost of manufactured drugs.

“We are encouraging manufacturing locally.

“We give all incentives for everyone to abide by the principles of Nigerian First,” he said.
