The Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied allegations of exclusion in the ongoing e-membership registration exercise of the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the leadership of a Jajiyya political movement under the state chapter of the party had alleged exclusion of their members in the e-registration exercise.

Responding, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, at a news conference in Gusau on Thursday, denied the allegations.

Idris said all the allegations against the ongoing e-registration exercise were baseless and only meant for distraction.

“As I am speaking now, the committee responsible for the conduct of the exercise in the state has not received any complaint from any member of the APC.

“The exercise is for every legal member of the party; we have no record of exclusion in the exercise across the state.

“We urge aggrieved members to tender their complaints to the committee at the party secretariat,” he said.

According to him, the exercise has been moving smoothly since its inception across the 147 political wards in the 14 Local Government Areas of the state.

“We are recording tremendous success, we have so far registered 30,000 members of the party who revalidated their membership online.

“We appreciate our leaders and major stakeholders of the party including the former Governors, Ahmad Sani-Yarima, Alhaji Mahmud Shinkafi, Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari and Hon. Bello Matawalle, for revalidating their membership through the e-membership registration.

“We successfully registered former deputy governors, serving and former senators and house of representatives members among major chieftains of the party through the e-registration exercise,” Idris explained.

He said the party’s leadership appreciated former governors Yari and Matawalle for their kind support to the exercise and party leadership in the state.
