The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned prospective candidates for the 2024 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) that anyone caught engaging in multiple registration would be prosecuted.
According to the Board, multiple registrations is also an offence if it is done deliberately.
Quoting the JAMB’s Director of Test Administration Department, Mrs. Ville Pius, the Bulletin stated that the candidate would also be disqualified.
“Multiple registrations are not allowed in the 2024 UTME exercise, candidates, who register more than once would be identified, disqualified, and prosecuted,” she said.
“In the event of any error during the registration process, candidates are to approach the Board for necessary corrections rather than obtaining fresh application documents as they would be deemed to have engaged in multiple registrations, which could invalidate their applications,” the JAMB bulletin partly reads.
She advised that in order to prevent unnecessary registration errors, candidates ought to read and understand the various registration guidelines as well as the set of instructions related on the Board’s advertisement on registration, among others, on how to complete the registration process.
Mrs. Ville also reminded candidates that they should never give their personal details to anyone, including JAMB CBT Registration centers.
These personal details include registration numbers, passwords, e-mail addresses, and e-PIN.
The Director concluded by reminding candidates that upon the completion of registration, they would be required to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on compliance with ethical (good) standards guiding their applications.
Meanwhile, the examination body says commencement of the 2024 JAMB UTME registration would be on 15th January, 2024.
Other dates include: Deadline for the 2024 UTME Registration: 26th February, 2024; Sale of 2024 Direct Entry (DE) application form: Wednesday, February 28, 2024; Deadline for the 2024 DE application: Thursday, March 28, 2024; 2024 UTME Mock Examination Date: 7th March, 2024; Printing of 2024 UTME Examination Slips: 10th April, 2024; and 2024 UTME Examination Date: Friday 19th April to Monday 29th April, 2024,” she added.
