AFP felicitates with Princess Oladunni on her appointment as SSG, commends Akeredolu

The Association of Female Politicians (AFP) has commended Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for his gender sensitiveness while congratulating Princess Oladunni Odu on her appointment as Secretary to the State Government of Ondo State, adding that Princess Odu is the first female to occupy the position in the State.

A statement signed by the President of the Association, Engr Janet Febisola Adeyemi, conveyed the felicitation of the group, saying, “We seize this opportunity to appreciate the governor and his wife who ensured that women are an integral part of the administration through the appointment of an experienced female administrator as the Secretary to the State Government.”

“We salute the courage and the unwavering nature of Princess Odu. We are confident of the ability and value the choice of Princess Odu will bring to government,” she added.

Commenting on the ability of Princess Oladunni Odu to administer the Office, Engr Adeyemi said: “There is no doubt that Princess Oladunni Odu is a square peg in a square hole,” adding that the appointment represents an elevation of womenfolk,” adding that it is also a motivation for more women to be involved in governance.

“We wish to commend the wife of the governor, Dr Mrs Betty Akeredolu for her unflinching commitment to women inclusion in governance adding that she has remained instrumental to the participation of both young and old females in all tiers of government structure.

She said AFP is hopeful that the Arakunrin Akeredolu-led government of Ondo State will leave the unbeatable record of appointing more women into various positions of service to serve the state and humanity, till Ondo state acquires the status of a gender parity state where the voice of women counts on every subject.

“We pray that God Almighty will guide your administration under your dynamic leadership, and a successful tenure to transform the state, while wishing the new SSG a very successful tenure in office,” she added.
