“As an institute of professional builders, we are satisfied with the quality of your products and we urge you to ensure that you sustain the standard,” the President said, adding that the Institute will not hesitate to expose any manufacturer of substandard building materials in the country.

He said the Institute acknowledges the impressive track record of the West African Ceramics Limited including awards it won as “best tile manufacturer, top 100 brands in India, most innovative tile manufacturer, excellence in quality award, and best export performance award.”

Bldr. Ewa Ewa, who described West African Ceramics Limited as a worthy partner in the Institute’s pursuit of best practices in the building industry, encouraged the company to collaborate with the professional body, saying: “There are opportunities for West African Ceramics Limited to collaborate with the NIOB in the celebration of the 2024 edition of the annual Builders Day,” adding that it is a day set apart by the Institute to remember challenges of the past and celebrate the triumph of the building profession.

“On that day, the NIOB advocates against loopholes that can lead to building collapse, and we want the West African Ceramics Limited to be involved in the advocacy.”

“There is also the mandatory workshop for builders which take place n Abuja. It is hybrid and physical and otherwise. The 2014 AGM of the Institute will take place in Anambara State,” he said adding that the Pa Osikoya Memorial Lecture of the Institute is another opportunity for WACL to work with NIOB for entrenchment of professionalism in the country’s building industry.

Discussing the origin of the annual memorial lecture, the Honorary General Secretary explained that Bldr. Pa Fatai Isola Osikoya was the first president of the Institute, and laid a solid foundation for the development of the Institute. “So, the annual lecture is in memory of him,” he added.
