CAN president meets with Osinbajo at Aso Villa

Archbishop Daniel Okoh, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Okoh, who was elected CAN president in July, told State House correspondents that the visit was a courtesy call to present himself to the vice president.

“Of course, you know the vice president is the number one Christian in politics and in government in Nigeria.

“And since my election as the President of CAN, I have not had the opportunity to come and present myself to him and to have a conversation with him.

“So, this is just a courtesy visit to let him know him know that I am now the newly elected president of CAN.

“And this is a prelude to the courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari; so that is the reason why I am here,” he said.

According to him, CAN is an ecumenical movement and is still working towards Christian unity.

He said that the association was also working towards engaging other sectors of Nigeria for the purpose of building a united and virile country.
