The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) has commenced Open Government Partnership (OGP) learning meetings for States in Nigeria’s Northwest region.

A statement from the Centre, signed by its Executive Director, Mr. Monday Osasah, said the meeting, which is part of Centre LSD’s “Promoting Transparency and Accountability in the Governance Process project,” shall bring together stakeholders from the region to share experiences, challenges, and best practices in implementing the OGP.

The meeting potentially will help deepen and sustain the successes recorded in the Northwest States of Jigawa, Kebbi, Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.

A statement by Mr. Lawal Amodu, Programme Coordinator and OGP Project Lead of Centre LSD, stressed that the need to ensure that stakeholders remain committed to the ideals of the OGP, especially at the subnational level is another strong impetus for the convening.
