Enzo Fernandez speaks on his Chelsea’s future

Enzo Fernandez has cast fresh doubt over his future at Chelsea FC after the club’s crushing defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Europe.

Truthng reports that Chelsea were thrashed 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, completing an 8-2 aggregate loss to the reigning champions in a tie that quickly slipped out of reach.

Early strikes from Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola ended any hopes of a comeback before Senny Mayulu added a third after the break.

Speaking after the match, Fernandez refused to guarantee he would remain at the club beyond the summer.

“I don’t know. There are a few games left [of the Premier League season] and the FA Cup. There’s the World Cup and then we’ll see,” Fernandez said.

The Argentina international arrived for £107 million as one of the club’s headline signings under BlueCo ownership. Despite a difficult campaign for the team, he has stood out, registering 12 goals and six assists in 45 appearances.

His potential exit would deal a significant setback to manager Liam Rosenior, who has relied heavily on the midfielder’s influence and experience within one of the youngest squads in the Premier League.

Rosenior admitted he had not seen Fernandez’s comments when asked after the match.

“I haven’t seen that,” he said. “It’s hard for me to speak on speculation after a game. I need to focus right now on the most important things, which is making sure we have the right result against Everton this weekend.”
