Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the rehabilitation of key federal roads in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, on Friday in Osogbo.
Adeleke said he received confirmation of the approval from the Federal Government through the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
“I received the news from the Federal Government, through the Federal Executive Council, on the approval for the rehabilitation of two key federal roads in Osun.
“The rehabilitation of the Osogbo–Gbongan Road and the Osogbo–Iwo–Ibadan Road will no doubt bring great relief and enhance economic development in the state,” he said.
The governor recalled that during a working visit to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, on Oct. 18, 2024, he presented the poor condition of the roads and appealed for urgent intervention.
Adeleke applauded the President and the minister, and pledged the state government’s support toward the successful execution of the projects.
He added that the approval further strengthened his earlier endorsement of Tinubu as his preferred candidate for the 2027 general elections.
“Mr President has validated our endorsement of him as our preferred candidate for the 2027 race. Osun truly appreciates this.
“We look forward to an even more robust partnership with the Presidency and the Federal Government,” he said.
