
The Executive Chairman, Kogi State Mineral Resources Development Agency (KGMRDA), Hajiya Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman has called for unity amongst the people of Kogi State, calling citizens a true representation of the confluence state.
In a congratulatory message made available to THE TRUTH on Friday, Hajiya Suleiman felicitated with her fellow citizens, describing the 30th anniversary of the state as a milestone. She opined that the diverse people of Kogi State have been able to stand together as one through conflicts and strife, while she took pride in the unity and sincerity of purpose of the people of Kogi people.
Kogi State was created on August 27th 1991 along with eight other states on August 27th, 1991.
She said: “Our long and rich history exists far beyond three decades. This region birthed Nigeria: An amalgamation of different people and cultures. It is this shared history that has kept us in harmony; our diverse cultures found a meeting point, indeed, a confluence that allowed us to co-exist side by side, growing together as brothers and sisters.”
Speaking further, the Executive Chairman urged citizens to continue to strive for peace and unity. She commended the Executive Governor for his purposeful leadership, describing him as a “detribalised leader” who has been able to strengthen relations among the people.
Ozavize expressed hope that the unity in diversity fostered and maintained in Kogi will be replicated on a national scale in due time.
