Kogi West: Why we endorsed Bar. Sunday Ehimoni for Senate – Group

A youth organisation with members across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State, Greater Kogi Family (GKF) on Sunday gave reasons for endorsing Barrister Sunday Ehimoni as a credible candidate to represent Kogi West Senatorial District in the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, citing Ehimoni’s “outstanding commitment to the development of communities in the state” as one of the reasons. The group called on the people of Kogi West to rally round Ehimoni and elect him Senator for Kogi West in the 2019 general election.

Spokesperson of the organization, Mr. Zoza Ismail who confirmed Ehimoni’s endorsement to our correspondent in Abuja on Sunday said the group’s decision to throw its weight behind the Senatorial aspiration of Bar. Ehimoni was also in view of his commitment to the development of youth, as well as his compassion for the elderly and unwavering determination to put Kogi first in all his endeavours.

Further justifying the group’s endorsement of Barr Ehimoni, Mr Zoza Ismail said: “from his antecedents, we have seen in him the qualities that characterizes the kind of legislator needed to achieve some set goals of Kogi West, and we are confident that if elected, he will not only trigger legislative interventions that will remarkably develop Kogi West Senatorial District, his impact will be felt by the nation at large.”

Discussing Ehimoni’s political antecedents which earned him the endorsement of the group, Zoza said: “Ehimoni is a champion of the youth revolution in Kogi State, and a prime mobiliser for the election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state,” adding that his decision to identify with the New Direction government of Governor Yahaya Bello underscores the performance of the government.

Zoza called on the people of Kogi West to learn from their past mistakes by ignoring the antics of opportunists, political jobbers and money bags by supporting the aspiration of Bar. Ehimoni whom he described as a humble grass root mobiliser that has devoted his resources in support of the people of the area through education, entrepreneurship and free legal representation over the years.

He further called for the active participation of the people of the area in the electoral process by registering to vote for the return of President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Yahaya Bello and other APC flag bearers in the state in the 2019 general election.
