Medical Trip: Tinubu reunites with associates, says only God can take his life

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, said only God could take his life since He alone gives life.

Tinubu, who said this, yesterday, during his reunion with his political associates and protégés at a welcome-back event and prayer hosted by Lagos State government at the State House, Marina, Lagos, said he was highly elated to return after his three-month absence from the country. He thanked all the political leaders and groups represented at the welcome back ceremony. He also thanked God for sparing his life till the moment and seeing him through the medical trip.

The APC National Leader said the prayer event was an emotional one for him, saying he was overwhelmed by good wishes from Nigerians, while he was away.

He prayed that God should bless all those who organised the welcome back ceremony and that God will grant them their heart desires.
Earlier, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, thanked God on behalf of Lagos residents for the successful return of the former governor to Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu, who also thanked those who prayed that he return home sound as was prayed and wished when he was leaving for London, said: “The citizens are happy that our leader and father is back peacefully and soundly.”

ALSO, Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, said they were ready to work more and already working to ensure Tinubu’s mandate in 2023.

Hamzat said that the APC National Leader’s full recovery from the knee surgery was a sign of strength and favour from God.
Gbajabiamila, who spoke on behalf of the National Assembly members, described Tinubu as “an eagle”, who is focused and always ahead of the game.

The Speaker wondered why a “simple knee surgery” became a national issue, but the solidarity shown towards Tinubu across ethnic divides indicated the APC national leader is an enigma.

He said that visits to Tinubu in London by different political leaders and groups across party lines said a lot about him and what the former Lagos governor stands for.

Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, called Tinubu a teacher and benefactor, saying his return has put malicious rumour against him to rest.

Also, Chairman of Conference 57, who spoke on behalf of the council chairmen, said members of the conference were ready to join Tinubu in his next political move.

Others, who spoke glowingly about the APC national leader, included the lawmaker representing Lagos West in the Senate, Olamilekan Adeola and GAC Chairman, Tajudeen Olusi.

Prayers were offered for Tinubu by Muslim and Christian clerics, while party leaders at the event took turns to welcome him back to the fold
