With just two days to the opening ceremony, preparations are at the final stage for the 4th Nigeria Gemstones and Jewellery Exhibition and Conference (NGJEC 2026), a gathering expected to bring together key players across the gemstone and jewellery value chain.
The three-day event, scheduled for August 3 to 5, 2026, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, will provide a platform for miners, gemstone marketers, jewellers, investors, policymakers, students, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to explore investment opportunities, innovation and strategies for developing Nigeria’s gemstone industry.
The conference is being organised by the Assciation of Gemstones Miners and Marketers of Nigeria and NGJCE. It has as institutional partners, the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development (MoSMD), the Solid Minerals Development Fund (SMDF), SEGILOLA Resourcing Limited and ProvidusUnity Bank.
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment by government and the private sector to deepen investment, promote value addition, strengthen local jewellery manufacturing and position Nigeria as a leading gemstone hub in Africa.
Organisers said the conference is aimed at demonstrating that the gemstone industry extends beyond mining and jewellery production to encompass investment, job creation, entrepreneurship and national economic development.
Participants will have opportunities to engage in exhibitions, networking sessions and discussions focused on strengthening the sector and unlocking its potential for economic growth.
The organisers also invited delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and jewellery designers to participate in the event, with designers expected to showcase their creations on the runway as part of the conference activities.
