NGO deworm 10000 Almajiris in Zamfara

A non-governmental organization NGO, Health for Life and Development Foundation based in Zamfara donated drugs to deworm ten thousand children between the ages of 5-15 year old in Zamfara State.

Flagging off the exercise at a  Quranic School in Gusau, the Executive Director of the foundation Dr. Abubakar Danladi, said the aim of the programme is to reduce worm related diseases amongst children.

The Director, represented by his programme officer, Shuaibu Uba, said diseases like tape warm, round warm and other intestinal disease mostly affect brain.

“The foundation has concluded plans to assist children, especially those in Qur’anic schools through provision of  the drugs for deworming,” he added.

Danladi further said the programme also goes along way to complement government efforts, as children in public schools have been dewormed by the government. He also appealed to the proprietors of the selected schools to take the programme in good faith and allow their pupils to take the drugs.
