Nwosu Salutes Oti’s Legacy of Reform and Excellence at FUTO

Former Chief of Staff to the former Governor of Imo State, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has commended the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Prof. Nnenna Oti, for what he described as her transformational leadership and contributions to the growth of the institution.

Nwosu made the remarks when he hosted the former vice-chancellor in Abuja, where he lauded her achievements during her tenure, saying they had repositioned the university for greater academic excellence and institutional development.

According to him, Oti’s visionary leadership, commitment to excellence and dedication to duty have left a lasting legacy within the university community, placing FUTO on a stronger footing for future growth.

He noted that her administration recorded significant milestones that continue to attract commendation from stakeholders within and outside the academic community.

Describing her tenure as one characterised by innovation, purposeful leadership and transformational reforms, Nwosu said Oti’s accomplishments should serve as an inspiration to women in leadership and the academic community.

He added that her stewardship demonstrated the values of integrity, competence and service-driven governance in the administration of higher education.

“Her leadership, vision and dedication have left a lasting impact on the university community. I applaud her for the remarkable transformation witnessed at FUTO under her watch,” Nwosu said.

He also expressed confidence that the former vice-chancellor would continue to contribute to national development and the advancement of education through future assignments.

Responding, Oti thanked Nwosu for recognising what she described as her modest contributions to the university, noting that the achievements recorded during her tenure were the product of teamwork and collective commitment.
She pledged to continue supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s education sector and promoting national development.
