OYDF empowers pupils with writing material to mark 10th anniversary

A non-governmental organization, Ohiku Youths Development Foundation (OYDF) has extended their educational outreach program to the pupils in five selected primary schools, each in the five Local Government Areas of Kogi Central Senatorial District with women and youths empowerment to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of the foundation.

The chairman of the foundation, Hassan Salihu in his remarks, noted that since the founding of OYDF as a non-governmental organization, the foundation has secured admission and funded the scholarship of not less than twenty students from Kogi Central in various higher learning institutions across the country.

OYDF has also empowered women and youths in skill acquisition with financial support to facilitate start their trade.

He eulogised the members of the foundation in their commitment towards the success of the organisation over the years with the leadership of the former chairmen of the foundation, Alh. Tijani Ochiji and Hon. Oyibo Akuvada AbdulAzeez.

The Chairman of Okene Local Government, Hon. Abdulrazak Mohammed commended members of the foundation in their efforts towards supporting the government in improving the quality of basic education in the state, saying that the responsibility of quality education should not be left for the government alone.

He urged other well meaning members of the society to emulate the Ohiku Youths Development Foundation in bringing development to their various communities. The occasion witnessed large turnout of the people and dignitaries from home and diaspora.
