Elder statesman and politician, Paul Unongo, has died. He died today at the age of 87; two months after his birthday in September this year.
A family statement said the demise of the former National Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) occured today, Tuesday, 29th November, 2022.
Unongo, who is popularly called “Wantaregh” which means ‘a child for the world’ among his Tiv ethnic stock, was born on September 26th 1935, to the Kwaghngise Anure Abera ancestry in Turan district of Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
He was a well respected politician who always dressed in white and had produced hundreds of disciples who dress like him and share his socialist philosophy.
