At the 2024 Africa Energy Forum (AEF), a nongovernmental organization, Nigeria Indigenous Women In Mining and Natural Resources Organization (NIWIMNRO) welcomed policy makers and global investors to its Exhibition Booth where it showcased the impactful contribution of Nigerian artisanal women miners to the development of the strategic minerals namely cobalt, lithium, graphite, barite, the rare earth metals among others.
NIWIMNRO is Nigerian top exhibitor at the Africa Energy Forum.
Implementing Partner (IP) of the NIWIMNRO project at the AEF in Barcelona, Mr. Fawole Oluwadamilare (who is also known as Drey Mide), said: “Artisanal women miners in Nigeria are playing very significant roles in the development of the strategic minerals,” adding that “their efforts are critical to the realization of set goal of energy transition.”
Inya Chimeziri, who is also an Implementing Partner, NIWIMNRO, said the goal is to enlighten corporate and individual entities at the AEF on how the efforts of women ASM miners greatly reinforce the strategic position of Nigeria as a key player in the realization of global energy transition agenda.
