President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, on his election as Chairman of the African Association of Accountant-Generals (AAAG).
Ogunjimi defeated candidates from Tanzania and The Gambia during the association’s Annual General Meeting recently held in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Tinubu described the election as a source of pride for Nigeria and a reflection of the country’s commitment to transparency, accountability and excellence in public financial management.

Tinubu expressed confidence that Ogunjimi would strengthen collaboration among African countries and promote the exchange of best practices in public finance administration.
He said the new AAAG chairman would deepen institutional capacity and advance reforms aimed at promoting prudent financial management across the continent.
The President wished Ogunjimi a successful tenure and assured him of the Federal Government’s support as he assumes the continental responsibility.
