Two men, Haruna Buhari, 25, and Idris Alhassan, 30, accused of receiving stolen items worth millions of naira, were on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan.
The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy and receiving stolen properties.
Each defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on June 27, at 6.00 p.m, at Iyana Iba, Lagos.
Adegbite said that the defendants received the stolen valuables from one Joseph Kanke, knowing same to be stolen from the owner, Mr James Odewole.
He said that the stolen property included: electric fans, Binatone blender, television sets, generators and others.
The offences, the prosecutor said, contravened Sections 516 and 249 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N2 million each with two reliable sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until July 31, for hearing.
