…SDP candidate promises reforms in economy, security, education
Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be voted out of office in the 2027 general election.
Adebayo made the declaration on Saturday while addressing party supporters at an SDP event in Bauchi State.
He accused the Tinubu administration of worsening poverty, insecurity, unemployment and corruption across the country.
According to him, Nigeria’s crisis goes beyond economic hardship and insecurity, warning against what he described as the growing danger of one-man rule.
“The problem of Nigeria today is not just poverty or insecurity, but the danger of one-man rule,” he declared.
The SDP presidential candidate also accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of suppressing opposition parties and weakening democratic institutions.
Despite the challenges, Adebayo expressed confidence that the SDP would emerge victorious in the next presidential election.
“We will contest and, by the grace of God, we will win for Nigerians,” he said.
Adebayo promised far-reaching reforms in education, healthcare, infrastructure, employment and national security if elected president.
He pledged to reduce poverty, create jobs, revive industries, restore the country’s refineries and provide free education alongside affordable healthcare services.
On insecurity, the SDP candidate vowed to confront terrorism and banditry decisively across the country.
He also criticised the removal of fuel subsidy, arguing that the policy had deepened hardship for ordinary Nigerians.
Adebayo urged Nigerians to rise above ethnic and religious considerations in choosing their leaders and instead focus on competence and capacity.
“Ask yourself whether the candidate deserves the office and has the capacity to perform,” he said.
Calling for national unity and people-centred governance, Adebayo urged Nigerians to support what he described as a movement for national renewal.
“Work with me, for I am your servant. It is the turn of ordinary Nigerians to enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he declared.
