The Oloto of Otto Kingdom and Paramount Ruler of Mainland, Oba Muh’Bashir Odesanya, has endorsed the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu
The paramount ruler said the endorsement is to enable the president to continue with his legacy of impactful governance.
Odesanya made this known at a meeting with the Lagos Central Senatorial District Council of Progressive Baales (EXCOS) at his palace in Lagos on Friday.
The traditional ruler said his action was informed by the need to continue the reforms the President had initiated in various sectors to reposition the nation’s economy.
The Oloto of Otto described the President as a leader, who elevated the status and welfare of traditional rulers across the state.
He said, “The traditional rulers remain indispensable stakeholders in grassroots mobilization, peace-building, and civic enlightenment.
“The gathering became necessary to sensitise The Baales, High Chiefs, and other concerned citizens on the importance of mobilising residents to obtain their PVC(s) ahead of the forthcoming general elections in 2027.”
The traditional ruler also pledged support for the Lagos state 2027 governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
He described Hamzat as an experienced administrator whose loyalty, competence and understanding of governance made him a worthy successor for the state.
Reiterating their stance, the Chairman of the forum, Chief Jelili Ododo urged all well-meaning citizens, stakeholders, and members of the progressives family to align with the vision of continuity and progress.
Ododo urged unity of purpose, peaceful engagement, and unwavering support for leadership that has proven capacity and a track record of excellence.
