- Says better days ahead for Kogites, Kogi State Governor
A sociocultural development association with headquarters in Kogi Central Senatorial District, Agada Forum has endorsed the executive governor of Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello as the preferred candidate for Lugard House in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in the state, saying that the Yahaya Bello administration has performed remarkably well, and needs a second term in order to consolidate on the achievements of the first tenure.
Speaking at a Press Conference organized by Agada Youth Forum(AYF) of Kogi Central Senatorial District tagged, ‘Ezi-Agada and Politics’ held at Town Hall Okene, on Friday 7th June,2019, the President of the Forum, Comrade Ayihi Abdulmumin said “the administration of Gov Yahaya Bello has turned around the fortunes of Kogi State for the better,” adding that with the continuous prayers and support of elders, the state will witness more unprecedented development.
“We believe in our God, elders and the youths, so, victory is ours,” he said. While commending the Special Adviser to Gov Yahaya Bello on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr Abubakar Ohere for his support that became very instrumental to the realization of peace in the State, Abdulmumin noted that Kogi State has become a place of peace and security as a result of the determination and commitment of the Yahaya Bello administration.
The President further explained that vision is a key factor in the Yahaya Bello administration, noting that the Youth and elder statesmen also played key roles in the actualization of set goals.
He called on stakeholders to remain steadfast in the determination to sustain the progress of the Yahaya Bello administration.
He said: “Through your prayers, a lot of things can happen and at the end of the forthcoming elections, we will have reasons to glorify God.”
“The youths have come together to adopt his Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello as their own.”
President, AYF, Comrade Ayihi Abdulmumin further said, “if Kogi is going down, it is because of bad people,” stating that the good people have to work for the good of the state as planned by the Governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
“We are here to tell Kogites that Governor Yahaya Bello is our choice for Kogi State come 2019; if God is for you, no one can stand against you.”
“AYF is solidly with Governor Bello, we want everyone to cast his votes for our own; AYF has spoken, the house has spoken in Kogi State, go and mobilize the people to vote for Governor Bello,” he stated, adding that the gathering is from all the 5 local government areas of Kogi Central Senatorial District.”
“Governor Yahaya Bello will have our full support and we wish him all the best. God will guide him and protect him. God will shower him with humility, strength and wisdom as he propel Kogi state to greater heights throughout his administration.
The Great Ozumi of Okene, (HRH) Alh. Haruna Onotu who laced his speech with scriptural passages, stated that he is proud to be Ezi-Agada and with this endorsement by the Youths for Governor Yahaya Bello second term in office, the next four years would be great for Kogites.
The traditional leader said: “I thank the leadership of the youths for this opportunity and great honour, it is not easy to meet the body of Youths in this large number, I am happy that Agada Youth stand by the decision of traditional rulers and the government of Kogi State. I have never been ashamed and i will not be ashamed of saying that I belonged to the class of youth,” he said.
The President General Agada Peoples Association, Hon. Alh. Yusuf Idris Ozigis at the press conference, said, “We are united in Ebiraland, we are not divided, the word of God is powerful; everything you can see today is created by God and with God, we are supporting Governor Bello, with Alh. Yahaya Bello, Kogi shall be greater because God does not disappoint his people; the unity in Ebiraland today shall be better.”
He said there is no reason why Anebira will not continue to support the continuity of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello as governor of Kogi State.
“I urge entire Ezi-Anebira to help him, because his success is our success and his downfall is ours. We don’t have any reason not to support him. He is our governor and we owe him the duty of support so that he would succeed,” Ozigis added.
