The Chairman of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), Bldr. Samson Ameh Opaluwah, has congratulated the Registrar, Bldr. Adetunji Adeniran, on his remarkable achievement as a co-author of a new UNESCO publication entitled “Transformative TVET for the Building and Construction Sector: Embracing Digitalisation, Greening and Migration Trends.”
In a statement personally signed by Bldr. Opaluwah and released to journalists on Tuesday, the CORBON Chairman commended Bldr. Adeniran for his outstanding representation of Nigeria on the international stage.
The publication presents the report of the BILT Expert Group on Building and Construction 2024–2025 of UNESCO-UNEVOC, comprising members from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Bldr. Adeniran served as Co-Lead, Africa, within the group.
The UNESCO report provides strategic guidance on how Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems in the building and construction sector can respond to key global trends—digitalisation, greening, and migration. It offers practical insights and recommendations for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and training institutions at all levels.
The initiative was led collaboratively by ConCOVE Tuhura (New Zealand, Asia-Pacific), Céreq (France, Europe), and CORBON (Nigeria, Africa)—a partnership that underscores CORBON’s role in advancing innovation and excellence in construction skills development worldwide.
Bldr. Opaluwah described the achievement as “a proud moment for Nigeria and a testament to our growing impact in global conversations on skills development and sustainability in the construction industry.”
He further praised Bldr. Adeniran’s commitment to advancing TVET and enhancing the capacity of professionals within the built environment.
