The Nigerian Army has been commended by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, for securing lives and property along the Illela–Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway Project.
He made this known when he paid a one-day operational visit to Kebbi State where he addressed troops stationed at the Forward Operations Base Laager to provide security for the project site.
In a statement by Mati Ali, Personal Assistant to the Minister on Media and Publicity, Badaru emphasized that the project is a “critical component of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda” meant to enhance economic activities and improve transportation across the country.
“This project is a game-changer for travelers, particularly those commuting between Sokoto and Lagos.
“It will stimulate the economy by creating numerous jobs and economic opportunities,” he said, adding that it was the reason the president entrusted him with the “responsibility of visiting you to personally express our appreciation for the exceptional work you are doing.”
