ECWA Church announces 2023 revival, says ‘Nigeria needs prayers, God-fearing men and women’

The Evangelical Church Wining All (ECWA), Wuse 2, Abuja, has called for prayers for the nation saying that ‘at this point in time, our nation needs prayers and God-fearing men and women who are committed to obeying God and doing His Will in all areas of life.’

Assistant Senior Pastor of the congregation, Rev. Chukwuemeka Okonkwo who made the call at a Press Conference convened by the branch to announce Year 2023 Revival Service of the congregation called on the public to participate in the programme, saying that ‘the revival offers the church and guests the opportunity to seek God’s intervention in our personal lives, in the families, the church and the nation at large.’

He said the 2023 Revival Program will begin on Sunday July 9, 2023.

He said: ‘The church is conscious of its global, national, and local responsibility to make disciples of all nations and to prepare them for a life in eternity with God,’ adding that it therefore ‘sets aside a period every year to tarry in the presence of the Lord and to seek His face.’

Discussing the theme of the revival, the Senior Pastor said: ‘The theme of the revival, which is the theme for all ECWA Churches Worldwide is “Occupy Till I Come,” and it is taken from the gospel of Luke chapter 19 verse 13.’

Discussing the efforts made by ECWA church to host a successful revival program, he said: ‘Since January this year, the church has been studying and applying the various dimensions of this theme which is a direct instruction from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to faithfully represent Him here on earth in word and in deed until His return.’

According to him, the church is conscious of the imminent return of Jesus Christ, and is thus embarking on the revival to prepare the congregation and all those who accept the invitation for the soon return of our Lord.

Addressing the press, he said: ‘We have, therefore invited you men and women of the fourth estate of the realm to help take this invitation out to the world that there is salvation in no one else than, the Lord, Jesus Christ.

‘Christ is coming back soon and had instructed us to make ourselves ready by doing His will in all our stations of life now in order not to incur His wrath,’ he added.

‘We seize this opportunity to invite the general public to come and join us in these Revival Services, trusting that the Spirit of God will visit us abundantly.’

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Elder Dr. Samson Opaluwah who said the revival would be convened in all ECWA Churches worldwide, explained that the Wuse 2 branch of the church would welcome attendees at Number 34, Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.

‘We are calling on all and sundry to come and meet with God. Nigeria needs God and we all need God,’ Opaluwah added.
