EPL: Carrick takes decision on removing Bruno Fernandes as Man Utd captain

Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes will continue as the team’s captain despite his criticism of manager, Michael Carrick.

Fernandes criticised Carrick’s tactical choices following the 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

United have now failed to win their last seven fixtures in all competitions.

According to Sky Sports, Fernandes will not be stripped of the captaincy.

The Portugal playmaker is also unlikely to be disciplined by the club.

Carrick himself, who has come under serious pressure, will be in the dugout when the Red Devils welcome Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

Top officials at Old Trafford have decided to continue with Carrick, amid links to coaches like Antonio Conte, Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann.
