FHA welcomes CORBON Council Chairman, Bldr Opaluwah, Registrar

The Council Chairman, Bldr. Samson Ameh Opaluwah, in company with the Registrar, Bldr. Adetunji Adeniran, mni paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of FHA, Senator Gbenga Ashafa at the Authority’s Head office in Abuja on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Builders at Management level in FHA also joined the Chairman’s team.
In his speech, the Council Chairman clearly explained the role of the Builder, and emphasized the need for FHA to ensure that in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007, only Companies having Builders with Current Practice Licence in their operations and management functions are engaged for FHA’s building projects. He further called on the MD to ensure that there is a rich stock of professional Builders in the FHA towards a planned succession plan for the profession. He assured the MD of Council’s readiness and determination to provide support to the Authority in the fulfillment of her mandate.
In his response, Sen. Gbenga Ashafa commended Council for keeping the light of the Profession burning since its creation in 1989 and appreciated the clarity with which the role of the Builder was discussed with him. He committed to seeking ways to fill the gaps identified in the succession of Builders in the FHA and to address them expeditiously. He promised to ensure that the courtesy visit was signposted to make it a memorable one in the annals of the Authority.
