Gov. Alia inaugurates Tinubu’s Door-to-Door campaign in Benue

Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue has inaugurated President Bola Tinubu’s Door-to-Door Movement campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, with 25 vehicles donated to support its activities.

The inauguration took place on Thursday at IBB Square, Makurdi, where the movement also distributed campaign materials.

The founder and national convener, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, donated the vehicles.

Alia urged members to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election and take the campaign message to communities across the state.

He said the movement would enable direct engagement with residents on government policies and programmes.

The governor attributed some achievements of his administration to support from the Tinubu-led Federal Government.

He said his administration had compiled a 128-page booklet documenting projects executed across Benue.

Alia also claimed that insecurity had declined to three local government areas, creating opportunities for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to return home.

He disclosed that medical equipment had been procured for the state’s 23 general hospitals to improve healthcare delivery.

According to him, three containers carrying the equipment had arrived in Lagos for clearance, while other consignments remained at sea.

The governor also announced plans to procure additional vehicles for Benue Links Nigeria Ltd. to ease residents’ transportation difficulties.

He recalled that his administration donated 100 buses to the state-owned transport company within its first 100 days in office.

Alia commended Tompolo for establishing the movement and assured him that the donated campaign vehicles would be put to good use.

Earlier, former Governor Gabriel Suswam urged Nigerians, particularly youths, to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Suswam said the president had taken economic decisions aimed at securing the country’s long-term development.

He acknowledged that the policies were difficult in the short term but argued that they were intended to benefit future generations.

The Benue Coordinator of the movement, Mr Maurice Orwough, thanked the convener and other stakeholders for their support.

Orwough said the movement would reach communities across the state to strengthen its structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

He cited the student loan scheme, local government autonomy and other government policies as issues the movement would communicate to residents.

Ekpemupolo, represented by Mr Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Ltd., said acceptance of Tinubu’s re-election bid was assured.

He said security remained a priority for the president and cautioned residents against politicians who might use deceptive tactics to gain public support.

Ekpemupolo urged residents to assess politicians’ promises and intentions carefully before making decisions.
