The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload them or obtain a verification code under its new verification system.
The Board said the clarification followed complaints from candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results or in previous years under the old process.
In a statement, JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, said all O’Level results uploaded through the previous process remained valid and would continue to be recognised on the Board’s platform.
“Candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again,” Benjamin said.
He said this applied to candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, those who uploaded them after the release of WAEC results and candidates who submitted their results in previous years.
According to him, the new verification process was introduced to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent falsified credentials from being used in the admission process.
He added that previously uploaded results would be subjected to the appropriate verification process by institutions where necessary.
JAMB advised affected candidates against making unnecessary repeat uploads because of the introduction of the new verification arrangement.
The Board assured candidates that their previously uploaded results remained valid and would be available for consideration during the admission process, subject to verification by the respective institutions.
