
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Abayomi Fagbenro as the new Special Adviser on Security in the state.
Truthng reports that the governor also named Prince Arowosaye Adeyemi as the chairman of the board of the Pacesetter Mineral Development Company.
The appointments were announced in separate letters signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Fagbenro previously worked at the Department of Defence, Army Network Enterprise Centre in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, in the United States between October 2007 and August 2012. During his time in the US, he also received military training in the Great Lakes, Illinois, and Chicago.
He further studied at East Coast Polytechnic Institute and later attended Strayer University, where he obtained a degree in Information Systems.
Adeyemi studied Political Science at the University of Abuja and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He also served as both the caretaker committee chairman and executive chairman of Oyo East Local Government.
Governor Makinde congratulated the two appointees and urged them to treat their new positions as an opportunity to serve the people.
The appointments take immediate effect.
In other news, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Major General Adeyinka A. Fadewa (retd.) as Special Adviser on Homeland Security.
The appointment, according to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, via a statement issued on Monday by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to strengthening internal security coordination, improving intelligence-led operations and deepening collaboration among security agencies in response to emerging threats across the country.
