MCO Announces Resumption of Receiving of New Applications for Mineral Title

PUBLIC NOTICE: RESUMPTION OF RECEIVING OF NEW APPLICATIONS FOR MINERAL TITLE

The Mining Cadastre Office (MCO) hereby notifies the general public that it will resume receiving New Applications for mineral titles with effect from Monday 8th July, 2019.  The said new applications are to be integrated into the Upgrade and Migration of Mining Cadastre Office Online (Real Time) system of Title administration, E-recording, Archiving and Establishment of the Six Zonal Offices. Accordingly, new applications are to conform with the new system (pre-going live). The following additional documents are therefore required along with the existing requirements:

a. Evidence of payment of all outstanding Annual Service Fees (ASF), on previous mineral titles including expired and revoked, in accordance with the Provisions of Section 11 & 12 of the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act, 2007.

b. Verifiable evidence of sufficient working capital particularly, for holders of more than five (5) Mineral Titles.

c. Copy of Extant Reconnaissance Permit (RP) for applicants of Exploration Licence.

d. Each Technical competent person is meant for only 1 company. (*non – compliance would lead to refusal of an application).

f. Applicants should indicate where a member of their Board of Directors is registered in another company having a transaction with Mining Cadastre Office (MCO). (This is in addition to form CO2 & CO7).

g. Duly completed Beneficiary Ownership form (to be issued by MCO and filled at the front desk)

Note: All applicants should collect and complete Application Clearance Form at the front desk. It is pertinent to note that the current new system (eMC+) cannot accept new applications for mineral titles without compliance as contained on this clearance form.
