
The Director-General, Nigerian Mining Cadastre Office (MCO), Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom has celebrated six retiring staff of the Agency, including a former Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. Jacob Femi.
The Director General thanked the retirees for their dedication and service to the nation through their stewardship at the MCO.
Head of Media and Publication, MCO, Okeke Amara who conformed the development to our correspondent, said the Director General showered the encomium during the send forth/appreciation award program organized by the Agency, at the MCO Conference Room, on Wednesday, in Abuja.
In his opening remarks, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom acknowledged the contribution of the retirees to the growth and development of Agency, highlighting their commitment to efficiency, dedication, creativeness and professionalism in service delivery. He praised their tireless efforts in promoting the office’s mandate and showcasing a culture of excellence.
Nkom emphasized the significance of their legacy, noting that their work has lasting impact on the Agency. He wished the retirees a happy and fulfilling retirement as he expressed confidence that their experience and expertise would continue to make a mark in the office.
He used the occasion to state his support towards them as though, they have retired but they are still part of the MCO family as their services would still be needed when called upon.
Speaking at the Occasion Engr. Frank Odom, who is a member of the national institute, and a friend of the Agency, wished the retirees well and prayed for God’s guidance and protection.
During the occasion, the Management Staff were given the opportunity to make comments about all the retirees and directors, advising that they continue to keep up the good work.
Mr Abraham Oloruntoba, who retired in MCO, while speaking on behalf of other retirees, appreciated the entire staff for honoring them and expressed gratitude to the Director General for his kindness and unwavering support during their years in service at the Agency, adding that Nkom’s labor of love and care will not be in vain, and that God will continue to uphold him to enable him move the Agency forward. Oloruntoba further advised staff to be diligent as they too will be remembered and honored for their service to the Agency.
In his vote of thanks, Director, Finance and Accounts, Ministry of Works, Mr. Jacob Olufemi Ayinshola who was the DFA at the MCO, commended the Director General for his continued doggedness and enthusiasm towards the advancement of the MCO, He recounted how the Director General encouraged him at decisive times in his career, especially during the preparations for his promotion examinations.
Ayinshola, who commended the retirees for their steadfastness during their years in service, said that despite retirement, they still have roles to play to their families and society as God will continue to keep them alive in good health.
During the occasion, Certificate and Plaque of Integrity in Service were presented to the retirees with their families and loved ones present.
The Retirees are Mr. Abraham Oluruntoba, Surveyor Dakup. T. Dawang, Mr Idris Adamu Abubakar, Mr Muhammed A.Y, Mr Temi Dayo Omosa, Mr Samson Jerry and Mr Jacob Ayinsola Femi.
