Nigerian First Lady extols ability of Nigerian women to manage family affairs

The First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has extoled the courage, confidence and patience of Nigerian women in their ability to effectively manage their respective family affairs.

Mrs Buhari was speaking during a wedding reception of Oluwabukunmi Itunu, daughter of Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mrs Adejoke Orolope-Adefuleri, in Lagos.

The first lady while officiating the cutting of the wedding cake, described the union as a symbol of love, unity and peace.

She therefore prayed the almighty God to bless the union with everlasting love and understanding.

She however expressed the determination of Nigerian women towards supporting a peaceful political transition for the sake of younger generation of Nigerians.

“Because, in whatever situation we found ourselves, as women it is our responsibility to sustain our commitment to politics towards building a united and prosperous nation,” she said.

Mrs Buhari expressed optimism that with the enormous contribution of women and youths in all facets of development Nigeria will no doubt reach to its desired destination.

She commended Nigerian women, especially Lagosians, for their tremendous support throughout the journey in her quest towards improving the lives of women and children since the inception of the Buhari administration.

She therefore urged them to sustain the tempo.
