Paris Saint-Germain sealed their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 crown with a 2-0 win over Lens, wrapping up the title race with a game to spare.
The result confirmed a record-extending 14th French league triumph and continued the club’s domestic dominance, having now lifted the trophy in 12 of the past 14 seasons.
Georgia winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck in the 29th minute to put the champions ahead before substitute Ibrahim Mbaye sealed victory deep into stoppage time.
PSG only needed a draw to move beyond the reach of their nearest challengers but finished the job in emphatic fashion.
“This is the sweetest and hardest title to win – the hardest of the three years we’ve had here, without a doubt,” said PSG manager Luis Enrique.
“But that’s also because Lens did a very good job. I remember certain moments from this season, the kind of matches they won and the number of consecutive matches they won. It was tricky. We had to deal with that.”
PSG now sit nine points clear at the summit with one league fixture remaining. Their tally puts them four titles ahead of Saint-Etienne, the next most successful side in French top-flight history.
The decisive opener came after Ousmane Dembélé intercepted a loose pass and teed up Kvaratskhelia, who finished clinically.
Lens threatened but were repeatedly denied by goalkeeper Matvei Safonov, who delivered a standout display.
PSG will finish their league campaign away to Paris FC on Sunday before turning their focus to Europe. They face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final on 30 May as they chase another continental triumph and a potential treble.
Lens, meanwhile, shifts attention to domestic cup duty, taking on Nice in the Coupe de France on May 22.
