Russian forces launched another wave of missile strikes across Ukraine overnight, targeting several regions including Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Zhytomyr, the Ukrainian Air Force said on Saturday.

Explosions were reported in multiple locations, including the capital Kiev, where Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported several blasts on Telegram and said air defences were active.

Ukrainian media reported that hypersonic Kinzhal missiles were among the weapons used, with energy infrastructure reportedly targeted. The full extent of the damage was not immediately clear.

Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia’s full-scale invasion since February 2022.
