Former Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Fund, Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, has supported an empowerment initiative in Adavi-Eba Ward, Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting economic inclusion among residents.
Ohiare, who hails from the area, visited the community to support the programme organised by Hon. Elizabeth Aduni, a ward representative, as part of efforts to provide socio-economic assistance and encourage skills development.
Speaking during the visit, Ohiare expressed delight at the enthusiasm of beneficiaries, describing community-driven initiatives as important interventions that can make a difference in the lives of residents.
“I was deeply touched seeing the smiles, enthusiasm and hope on the faces of our people. Initiatives like this, no matter the scale, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of beneficiaries,” he said.
He noted that leadership should be measured by its impact on the people, stressing the need for continuous investment in programmes that improve livelihoods and create opportunities.
“Leadership is ultimately about service to the people. We must continue to support initiatives that directly improve the welfare and economic well-being of our communities,” Ohiare stated.
The former REF boss commended Hon. Elizabeth Aduni for the empowerment programme, urging elected and appointed public officials to prioritise interventions that address the needs of citizens at the grassroots.
“This kind of thoughtful initiative demonstrates the importance of people-centred leadership. When we work together through selfless service, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Adavi and a better Kogi State,” he added.
Ohiare also urged residents of Adavi-Eba to continue supporting the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and remain committed to the development of the state.
He prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Adavi-Eba and the entire citizens of Kogi State.
