THE Governor of Ogun State, Mr Dapo Abiodun has come under heavy attack for calling Nigerian masses protesting against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anti-people policies “sore losers”.
The Governor, in an interview with Seun Akinbaloye on Channel Television two days ago said Nigerians protesting against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration are sore loser who do not know that they must wait for 2027 for another round of election.
Millions of Nigerians across the 36 states of the federal and the capital territory are presently protesting on the streets against hunger inflicted on the country and excruciating poverty in what they tagged #EndBadGovernceInNigeria.
A statement credited to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday denied that the governor ever call Nigerians sore losers, even though there’s a trending channel television video clip making the round to that effect.
Mr. Tayo Agboola told Trojan News Correspondent in Lagos that Governor Abiodun is one of the opportunistic and condescending characters with the belief that Nigerians must be worshiping at the footstool of President Tinubu without challenging his poverty induced administration.
“Nigerians are not surprised with Governor Abiodun’s attack on the electorates because he knows that Nigerians didn’t actually vote for Tinubu’s in the first place.
“A man with a paltry of 8.7 millions votes (36.61) percent in a country of 93 million registered voters, with high level of voters’ suppression and manipulation across the country should have been involved in peace building, instead of enacting anti-people policies” Agboola said.
