Reuben Okoya, an architect and native of Yenagoa Local Government Area, said he decided to join the NDC after resigning from the PDP and considering other political parties.
He said the NDC shared his political ideology, especially its focus on service to the people. Okoya added that his decision was informed by the party’s vision and direction ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, Leghemo, a former House of Representatives aspirant for Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, said he would work with other members to make the NDC politically formidable before the 2027 polls.
He pledged to deploy his resources and support towards strengthening the party in Bayelsa State.
The NDC, which received its certificate barely three months ago, has emerged as one of the opposition parties attracting politicians across the country.
The party currently has in its fold former Labour Party presidential candidate and former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, and members of the Obidient Movement.
It has also attracted former Kano State governor and former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside other politicians across the country.
