Gunmen have again kidnapped the district head of Garu Kurama community in Lere local government area (LGA) of Kaduna State, Yakubu Jadi, his daughter, a Catechist of Catholic Church, and four other members of Gurzan Kurama village.
TRUTHNG reports that Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) revealed this through a statement released by its public relations officer, Josiah Abraks.
Abraks revealed that the district head and the other kidnap victims were abducted on Friday night, August 23, 2024.
The PRO said that the bandits were yet to establish any contact with the family members of the victims.
Describing the incident as unfortunate, alarming, and worrisome, the group called on security agencies and relevant authorities to do their best to ensure the quick and safe release of the victims.
It also asked Federal Government (FG) to do more in protection of lives and property of citizens.
It further urged the communities to be more organised and vigilant against unusual faces and movements in their environments and report such movements to appropriate authorities.
Police authorities in the state are yet to confirm the incident as of the time of this report.
