Centre LSD Harmonizes SGBV Service Provision Standards and Referral Pathways with Kano State Government

Centre LSD in collaboration with the Kano State Government and stakeholders will gather on Monday, March 10th, and Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, to review and harmonize the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Service Provision Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to achieve a more effective GBV referral pathways.

A statement by Mr. Nyong Essien, Project Officer of the Side-by-Side Project, emphasized that the workshop organized as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the framework between key service providers, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and community leaders is to ensure that survivors receive timely, comprehensive, and survivor-centered care.

The workshop has three main objectives:

Review and refine the existing SOP to align with current best practices and national policies.

Streamline survivor access to medical, psychosocial, legal, and protection services.

Identify gaps and challenges in the current SGBV response system and propose actionable solutions.

This initiative demonstrates Kano State’s commitment to tackling SGBV through a coordinated, survivor-centered approach.
