The Nigerian Institution of Builders in Maintenance and Facilities Management (NIBIMFAM) is set to convene industry professionals and stakeholders in Abuja for its Annual General Meeting (AGM), with a major focus on shaping the future of facilities management practice in Nigeria.
The AGM, scheduled for Tuesday, August 18, 2026, will centre on the theme, “Situating the FM Practice in Nigeria: Advocacy and Policy Implications for a Sustainable Practice.”
The event, which begins at 10am, will hold at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, 2 Emmanuel Adiela, Jabi, Abuja.
The gathering is expected to provide a platform for professionals, policymakers and other stakeholders to examine the challenges confronting facilities management in Nigeria and explore practical approaches to promoting a more structured, sustainable and professionally driven practice.
Discussions will focus on the importance of stronger advocacy and effective policy frameworks in strengthening facilities management, improving maintenance culture and ensuring the sustainability of buildings and other critical infrastructure.
NIBIMFAM is expected to use the AGM to engage stakeholders on the need for greater recognition of facilities management as a critical component of infrastructure development and asset preservation.
The event also offers an opportunity for practitioners and stakeholders to exchange ideas, build professional networks and contribute to conversations that could shape the future direction of facilities management practice in Nigeria.
