Side-by-Side Movement Holds Review and Agenda Setting Meeting

The Side-by-Side Movement Nigeria, a coalition advocating for gender justice and faith-based engagement, is set to host a Review and Agenda Setting Meeting in Kano State for 14th – 15th April 2025 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and action on gender justice.

The meeting will bring together key stakeholders including religious and traditional leaders, civil society organizations, government representatives, and community influencers to review past activities, assess impact, and chart a renewed course for advancing the movement’s mission in kano state. The meeting aims to evaluate progress and lessons learned from past initiatives, foster dialogue and commitment among stakeholders and set a clear agenda and roadmap for upcoming interventions in Kano State.

A statement by Mr. Nyong Essien, the project focal person on the Side-by-Side Movement at the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development, Centre LSD emphasized the importance of collective action and inclusive dialogue in addressing the root causes of gender injustices.

He noted that the meeting marks a critical step in realigning the movement’s shared goals and reinforcing the role of faith and traditional actors in driving meaningful and sustainable change.

He called on all stakeholders and community members to actively participate in the discussions and join the movement to ensure a violence-free society.
